This documentation will explain how to download, install and open your Five Desktop account to start developing in Five.

Automatic Upgrade

If upgrading from a previous version, Five will handle upgrading your applications into your new version of Five. Simply close your current version of Five and download and install your new version. It is recommended, you export your applications and create a backup to avoid any schema and data loss before installing your new version of Five.

Download Your Five Desktop Account

1. Download a free version of Five from https://five.co/download-five/

2. Click the Download button.

Please wait while Five Desktop downloads, this may take a short time.

3. Locate the Five_Desktop_Installer-<version>.exe file in your Downloads folder.

4. Double click the Five_Desktop_Installer-<version>.exe file.

caution

It is recommended that you close all other applications before starting setup. This will make it possible to update relevant system files without having to reboot your computer.

5. Click the Next button on the Five Desktop Setup Wizard.

6. Scroll through Five's License Agreement.

7. Click the I agree to the License terms and conditions checkbox.

8. Click the Accept button.

9. Click the Next button.

By default the chosen install location will be:

C:\Program Files\Five Software<version>\.

10. Click the Install button.

11. Click the Finish button.

By default, we will create a desktop shortcut for you.

12. Navigate to your desktop and double click the Five Desktop shortcut.

Five will take a few moments to load, please wait.

Once Five has loaded you will need to enter your serial number. If you do not have one, please click the link provided in the Enter Serial Number dialog window to have a serial number issued and ensure to check your Junk folder if you do not receive an email containing a serial number.

13. Enter your serial number supplied by Five in the Serial Number field.

14. Click the Submit button.
