This documentation will explain how to install and open your Five Desktop account to start developing in Five.

Supported Versions

• macOS 11
• macOS 12
• macOS 13

Strongly Recommended

If you have a previous version of Five installed, it is strongly recommended to backup your applications to avoid schema and data loss before installing your new version of Five.

Download Your Five Desktop Account

1. Download a free version of Five from https://five.co/download-five/

2. Select your macOS architecture.

3. Click the Download button.

Please wait while Five Desktop downloads, this may take a short time.

4. Locate the FiveDesktop-arm-2.1.pkg or FiveDesktop-x86-2.1.pkg file in your Downloads folder.

5. Double click the file.

caution

It is recommended that you close all other applications before starting setup. This will make it possible to update relevant system files without having to reboot your computer.

6. Click the Continue button on the Five Desktop Installer.

7. Click the Continue button for Five's Terms of Service.

8. Click the Agree button.

9. Click the Install button.

By default, the chosen install location will be `Macintosh HD`.

10. Enter your computer's password.

11. Click the Install Software button.

Please wait while Five installs.

12. Click the Close button.

You can either keep the Five Desktop Installer or move it to the bin as it is no longer necessary to keep.

13. Navigate to your Applications folder and double click the Five application.

Five will take a few moments to load, please wait.

Once Five has loaded you will need to enter your serial number. If you do not have one, please click the link provided in the Enter Serial Number dialog window to have a serial number issued and ensure to check your Junk folder if you do not receive an email containing a serial number.

14. Enter your serial number supplied by Five in the Serial Number field.

15. Click the Submit button.

You will land on Five's landing page and from here you can access help or use our community forum.

16. Click the Quick Start Guide link to get started.
